The Aqua-Manna Shrimp Pod

For the past three years, Aqua-Manna has expanded its research and development into the culture of marine shrimp, L. vannamei in particular, in indoor recirculating systems.  Our Shrimp Pod, consists of  four 18 ft diameter tanks, each with Aqua-Manna Shrimp Hawg Multifunctional Pump and Solids Maintenance Sump.  The system is designed as a heterotrophic system, where suspended bacterial flocs act as biofilters as well as an additional feed supply for the shrimp.  Our research has shown that each tank can produce up to 400 lbs of shrimp 3 times per year, that's 4,800 lbs of shrimp/year out of each 4 tank shrimp pod*.   This system is the essence of simplicity and efficiency with only the multifunction pump, working at less than 10 amps, as the only mechanical part of the system.  These systems have the potential to pay for themselves is less than a year of use!
